Golden Gate Drift round 2 was one interesting event to say the least. There were alot of drivers coming from all over to compete in hopes of getting points towards the FD license.
Dave Forman drove up from SoCal to compete with his LS1 powered RWD WRX wagon. He ended up qualifying seventh and finishing first in the final battle against Chris mills.
Melyssa Grace came up from SoCal as well in hopes of getting some points.
Joe Amies, who got 3rd in round one was hoping to keep his points up as well.
Matt Coffman with his team, Coffman Racing, are always excited to come down from Oregon and compete with the Norcal drivers.
Alveen Gideon had a pretty rough day starting out with backing off the trailer and puncturing a clutch line. Luckily his crew was able to fix the damages in time and he got to practice.
Jeff Wolfson finished round 1 in second place, and definitely didn’t disappoint in round 2.
His rear bumper, laced with wall scrapes is a badge excellence on his car. Throughout the day, Jeff continued to ride the walls with his hatch’s rear bumper.
Jeff’s wheel fitment is definitely up to Carbon Studios standards.
Matt Madrigali with his new wheel fitment was looking good.
Drivers meeting began and the drivers listened patiently, awaiting their time to slide.
Matt Field decided to throw a curve ball and challenge the drivers with a completely different track setup.
Josh McGuire came back after getting into an accident at round one with a beautiful looking car. He was ready to battle and get some much needed points.
His new livery looks ballin’ from all angles.
His simple yet aggressive livery from Fatlace was on point!
On Josh’s first run he lost and ran over his front bumper, completely destroying it.
These two cars…Words can’t describe.
Ty Milner, one of Matt Field’s mechanics, was looking pretty good in spare parts from Fields old setup.
And the destruction of Josh’s rear bumper came shortly after his front bumper.
Jeff, getting real close to the wall with a souvenir he picked up on the track.
Chris Mills came in second place and is still leading the pack.
Dave Forman came out of nowhere and took first place in round 2.
Alveen had some pretty good practice runs, considering he was getting used to his new sponsor F20c powered AE86.
During the end of practice Alveen went out for a run and crashed into a k-wall, only causing light damage to the front bumper and hood. Although he fixed it up and went back out. His next run he crashed again into the k-wall and totaled his beautiful Corolla out for the race. It was a sad day for Alveen, but we know he’ll be ready for round 3!
Practice finished and qualifying began.
Congratulations Dave Forman for taking the win at Golden Gate Drift Pro Am Round 2!
